Devarim 17: 14 & 15
וְאָמַרְתָּ אָשִׂימָה עָלַי מֶלֶךְ
v’amarta asimah alai melech
and you say, ‘I will set a king over myself,’
אז די אידען וועלן ארונטערנידערען צו אזא מדרגה פון פאָדערען איבער זיך א מושל, א הערשער — שום תישם עליהם מלך. ר’ משה’לע קאזשעניצער)
When the Jews would decline to such a level as to require a governor, a ruler — som tasim aleicha melech (“you shall set a king over you”). [see next] (R’ Mosheleh Kozhinitzer)
שׂוֹם תָּשִׂים עָלֶיךָ מֶלֶךְ
som tasim aleicha melech
you shall set a king over you
באשטים א מלך איבער דיך אליין. זאלסט קענען זיך אליין באהערשען אין דיינע מעשים און דיינע האנדלונגען. (ר’ ישעיה’לע ראפשיצער)
Appoint a king over yourselves. You should be able to master yourselves in your [own] deeds and actions. (R’ Yeshayale Ropshitzer)

אֵלֶה הַדְּבַרִים אְַשֶר דִבֶר מֹשה
Eileh hadvarim asher diber Mosheh
These are the words that Moshe spoke (Deuteronomy 1:1)
ווען השי”ת האָט געשיקת משנ’ן ארויסצונעמען די אידען פון מצרים, האָט משה גע’טענה’ט, „לא איש דברים אנכי,“ אָפּזײַנדיג אזא צייט מנהיג ביי אידען, האָבן זיי מיט זייערע האנדלונגען, מחלוקת’ן, און שטענדיגען מורמלען, געמאכט אים פאר אן איש דברים, ווי די תורה זאגט עדות, „אלה הדברים אשר דבר משה.“ (קוזשניץער מגיד)
When Hashem Yisboroch (The Holy Blessed One) sent Moshe to remove the Jews from Egypt, Moshe argued, “Lo ish d’varim anochi” (I am not a man of words – Exodus 4:10). The entire time Moshe led the Jews, through their actions, controversies and incessant murmuring, they made him into an ish d’varim (man of words). As the Torah testifies, “Eileh hadvarim asher diber Mosheh” (These are the words that Moshe spoke). (Kozhnitzer Magid)

This one is a little tricky, but worth it. Bear with me.
לשחט אותה לפניו
l’shochet otah l’fanav
and slaughter her in front of him
(Numbers 19:3)
„זר שוחט ואלעזר רואה.“ (רש”י) אויב איינער איז א זר, אן אָפּגעפרעמדטער פון אידענטום, נאָר ביי א געלענגענהייט איז ער זיך מקריב, מוסר־נפש פאר זיין אמונה אונ פאלק — „אל־עזר רואה“ זעהט דאָס דער רבש”ע זון איז מקבל באהבה ווי א צדיק.

“Zar shochet v’elezar ro’eh,” (The stranger shechts -slaughters- and Elezar observes). —Rashi. If one is a stranger, [i.e.] an estranger from Jewish life (lit. “yiddendom”) then only by the opportunity of musar-nefesh can he draw himself close to his faith and to his people. “El-ezar ro’eh” (the G-d of help observes), the Ribono Shel Oylam (Master of the Universe) sees this (the estranger’s efforts in Musar) and receives him in love like a tzadik (righteous person/saint).

For all of us leader types and future leaders out there:
„זאת חקת התורה“ — דער עיקר לימוד התורה דארף זײַן לשמה, ניט כדי גערופענ צו בבערען „רבי“ אָדער „חכם.“ (ר’ משה’לע קאָזשעניצער)
“This is the statute” — The main thing in studying the Torah is that it must be lishmah (for its own sake), not inorder to be called “rabbi” or “sage.”
